Paradoxical Reaction to Alcohol, Tobacco, and Medications

My husband has a paradoxical response to medications, alcohol & tobacco. He becomes both verbally abusive physically violent by throwing things around or at others. He stalks from room to room, makes it impossible to leave or get away. Threatens and/or wishes for bad things to come way.

He becomes beyond & without reason. Feel like I'm living with Jekyll & Hyde. An absolute ticking time bomb.
